I thought that was jeanist in that water tube thing

Ohms Nuttachai • 1 year ago

That was one heavy episode...
Until Shoto slammed the door. That was a well-timed comedy lol

Seriously, though. The heroes have it hard after those failed missions and scandals. Now the entire hero system is dysfunctional, I understand why some of them decided to retire but that only makes things worse. Now the entire country is in a dystopia where everyone becomes a vigilante to protect their lives. The future sure looks grim.

Anyway, the Todoroki family's drama continues next week and I believe we will get a resolution. The build-up is already long enough and it's about time to move the story forward.

This first time I saw a character with bigger family problem than the main character

broodo aka Dorian Brooks • 1 year ago

Deku's biggest family problem:
When is dad getting back from buying cigarettes?

Rayquaze • 1 year ago

Zoro is not coming back lol

I guess he will come back after he becomes the greatest swordsman and helped Luffy become the Pirate king. Though he will get lost and end up in Konohagakure

Coldplay23 • 1 year ago

he'd prob end up taking on the swordsmens of the mist and killer bee's 8th style sword play

Nan Demo K(Nai)ves • 1 year ago

Lol the way I went from almost crying to laughing because of Shouto's reaction to Endeavor crying.

Yeah, there's going to be a lot more casualties because civilians don't have training and will run more on adrenaline which will hurt them more than they think.

Ian Nava H • 1 year ago

Good thing i wasn't the only one who laughed at the awkwardness

Deus The Great • 1 year ago

There will be more casualties with how villains run amok either way. With most of the heroes absented right now, fighting may be the best solution rather than indirectly support them to run free while doing nothing and wait for hero that might or might not come. In this situation where heroes are decreasing and retiring. you can't just cling into inconsistent hope. Worst come to worst villains will create another groups within there while recruit the civilians.

ChiliPot • 1 year ago

At this rate there'll be a militia comprised of support item users to deal with variety of quirks. (Cuz apparently bullets wont do jack as we've seen from Tartarus.)

Deus The Great • 1 year ago

It would depend on which opponents to shoot.

Scarlet Rose • 1 year ago

My reaction was the same I was about to cry but then Shouto slammed the door when he saw his father crying I started laughing so much at that scene 😅

Also I was thinking the same thing that you said about the civilians fighting for themselves.

Jandj Hroco • 1 year ago

To be fair if people were getting pissed at me not saving or helping people faster, I would get pretty tired of their entitlement too. If you're not happy with me helping you, I just won't. I would want to hold myself to high standards, but if I'm getting berated for not being perfect, I'd be sick of that work environment.

IamCree • 1 year ago

Exactly. Like, fine, you all destroy your communities and I won't care. You asked for this

Crayola • 1 year ago

yeah but just cuz people were getting mad at you, you wouldnt give up your job would you? The fact that people were just shows the real from the fake.

VPCLOVE • 1 year ago

Let's put it another way, would you continue to let family, friends or acquaintances mistreat you, be ungrateful, etc? No, every person shows their unhappiness and let you know of it since they were babies. Yes, people get mad everyday and some people have to walk away for their sanity and peace of mind. The heroes put up with villains day by day, protect millions of citizens but they turn on them at the drop of a hat do to one rumor. So, the question shouldn't be directed toward the heroes walking away but to the citizens. Why did they turn on the ones that they need the most.

Crayola • 1 year ago

That is exactly my point tho. There are heroes like Jeanist, Wash (i think), Hawks, and others that didnt walk away and others that did. Citizen doubt whittled the shaky definition of a hero and they in turn put themselves in more danger. I think this is what MHA does well, questioning the truths and realities of the celebrity stardom in the anime and lining it along side the real world (by that i mean you could probably draw parallels)

ShadowDivz • 1 year ago

Actually that's the very definition of a hostile work environment. And leaving will do you far better in the long run than staying. Keep in mind, heroes aim to arrest; but depending on the villain they will aim to kill. Heroes risk their lives.

Meroko Yui • 1 year ago

Honestly I like the character development that people are just people on both sides and that perfect doesn't exist even where everyone is trying to create a perfect image.
.
I think Endevour it's more about redemption and acknowledgement to what truly matters. Endevour's past shows that hero is only image that truly doesn't matter. The social status of being someone great was just a facade and image. Hence being a hero is almost like being an actor or even saying that all cops are good guys. I guess that's what heroes really are. Super cops who are celebrities pretty much.

On the contrary though it's not just the villains who have problems and suffer. Also some of the villains aren't truly villains in this but victims but this doesn't mean all villains are victims. some villains still truly are villains.

but I like the acknowledge in this series that things aren't black and white and how imperfect this world is.

On the contrary it's always nice seeing Bakugo's complicated development. Midoria must have known Bakugo well to have always considered him friend even starting into UA. Bakugo's was shown to us to look like he was a bully and hated Midoriya and would lead to villainy. However truly Bakugo cared about Midoriya when he was quirkless and didn't want Midoriya to become a hero because he was worried. Then felt betrayed when Midoriya had and quirk and it seemed like he had hid it from Bakugo. Also not succumbing to becoming a villain when forced and giving some trauma and realization that his approach made him seem like he was villainous. Furthermore he was great bud who supports Deku with his secret and even willing to go so far as to risk his own life for Deku. Even shows how much he cares for Midoriya with him not waking and being in a coma. I dunno this imperfect character shows he is pretty much the most caring character in the show even through his imperfection to not be able to show his feelings very well.

I think however that imperfection is a huge thing shown in this anime. Like the idea that people don't suffer for the ideology of this black and white society and that it's just a facade that places people in a category.

Even Twice could be seen as more of true hero then Hawk's is and I like how Hawk's acknowledged that he wasn't really heroic and the backstory behind people even his mother who may have said mean things that seemed unloving through her trauma and hurt but also showed loved.

And people just blaming everything on heroes...guess All for One's plan is working.

sounds like the US w/ gun sales going through the roof as a pro-criminal government is in charge

Ian Nava H • 1 year ago

it's basically the wild west but with super powers

Reemus • 1 year ago

The way their society collapses is a massive stretch. That is what she said. While we don't have any real-life examples to say how authentic the process is, I find myself clashing with my suspension of disbelief during some scenes.

Rather than saying "good depiction/bad depiction", I think a serious, logical debate would be in order to evaluate how coherent is the depiction of the hero society falling apart from a few villain attacks. Like it never happened before.

And on the topic of family drama - I actually like it here. If only for the reason I don't have to complain about it, it seems well thought out, the motivations are believable and logical. Whenever Midoriya or Shigaraki are on screen I am clenching my fists, waiting for a yet another superpower pull out of nowhere. At times feels like I am watching two different series - one written with care, and the other written like a normal Japanese story.

KEYARU • 1 year ago

Noooooo! Let Endeavor die from sadness!

Bell Cranel • 1 year ago

Dunno why but i burst into laughter when i saw that scene where Shoto was shocked seeing his dad crying.
